The Profile

A life of purpose.
A legacy in action.

Sherry D. Snipes is a transformative human capital and people strategy executive with more than 20 years of experience leading enterprise-wide HR strategy, talent management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness — across Fortune 150 corporations, global professional associations, and design institutions.

A Hampton University alumna, her career began on Seventh Avenue with John Kaldor New York — an early grounding in design, craft, and the relationship between form and function that continues to shape her approach to organizational culture and leadership.

She went on to serve as Global Head of Compliance, Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement at Arrow Electronics (Fortune 150), directing strategy for over 12,000 employees globally with a $2.5M programming budget. As CDO at the American Institute of Architects, she represented over 100,000 members and established a Diversity Center of Excellence. At MSC Industrial Direct, she built an Employee Relations Center of Excellence that reduced compliance-related risk by 90%.

“If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else.”

— Toni Morrison

In 2014 she founded Global Diversity Collaborative, an advisory firm helping organizations navigate change, build alignment, and design strategies grounded in clarity, inclusion, and long-term impact. Today, through 1868 Legacy, she curates spaces where heritage, leadership, and influence converge to shape what comes next.

She has facilitated leadership experiences across four continents and has been recognized by Black Enterprise, Savoy Magazine, The Network Journal, and NAAAHR among others. Her work has appeared in Newsday, Diversity Executive, and the anthology Voices of European Black Women, Vol. 1.
